Explore To Create is an ethos one adopts and can apply to any situation. We can "Explore new environments to create memories", "Explore different perspectives to create better people", "Explore our thoughts to create new ideas", etc.
In our first season of Explore To Create - the podcast, hosted by Anthony Lum, we'll be exploring topics surrounding identity, culture, language & education. The rich history and depth of people's identities. The advantages and potential challenges of being bilingual, trilingual, or even multilingual. The cognitive benefits of learning multiple languages. The cultural insights gained through personal stories, anecdotes, shared experiences and people in an increasingly interconnected world. Linguistic diversity and preserving cultural heritage within our communities through education and language schools.
Episode 1: Asian Identity - Featuring: Christian / 47mins
Episode 2: Being Asian in Quebec, Canada - Featuring: CCAS / 81mins
Episode 3: Life & Language - Featuring: Jessica / 39mins
💡 This is what Explore To Create - The Podcast could look like on Spotify (with the help of some HTML/CSS coding & photoshop).
I hope to be able to create more episodes in the future and explore other topics through engaging discussions.
💡 This pedagogical project is an interesting format to be able to engage in discussions about a variety of topics that can be easily digestible by both participants, and audience. A podcast is a refreshing change of pace in terms of an assessment that we don't often see.
💡 As a Graphic & Web Design teacher, creating a podcast in its entirety could be an interesting and complex multimodal digital media project that would have students produce a variety of resources demonstrating their skills in a different softwares and mediums.
💡 Students would be required to create an audio or video podcast that would demonstrate their skills in audio/video technology using microphones, cameras, editing software, etc.
💡 Optional supportive elements students could create to enhance their project:
· Podcast Cover Art
· Website / Online Presence
· Podcast Page on a Platform
· Promotional Material
· Textual Information
